Barb's Story

In 2008 I finally decided to have a breast reduction. I was tired of wearing three sports bras in order to run with proper support. This made it difficult to allow my chest to expand while working out. I suffered from back pain, which was treated with medication and pain patches. The worry of wearing button down shirts made it a nightmare, wondering would the blouse button or stay buttoned. I knew of Dr. Welch since I worked at the University of Toledo Medical Center. I saw her regularly and as an insider, I knew of her work first hand. My instinct was that she was the right plastic surgeon for me.

The operation was truly life changing. For the first time in years, I had a life without pain and felt comfortable in clothes. My only regret was putting it off for so long. I should have had this surgery years ago! My gynecologist was amazed at how I looked and told me what a great job my surgeon had done. After this surgery I lost some weight and spoke with Dr. Welch regarding my abdomen. I had a ‘muffin top’ and she informed me that the only way to get rid of it was to have the excessive skin surgically removed. I was so happy with the results of my first surgery that it made this decision pretty easy. So, I scheduled my second surgery to have a tummy tuck. This was the second best decision I made. Dr. Welch is one amazing surgeon! She sculpted my body as if I had spent hours in the gym. I actually looked physically fit. I could not be happier with the skill set of Dr. Marlene Welch and her attention to every detail from the beginning to the end.

Dr. Welch also provides me with assistance to slow down the aging process, which I appreciate as a middle-aged woman. I am under her care and schedule Botox and dermal fillers to refresh my looks. As always, Dr. Welch is reassuring and thoughtful. I still look like me and now I am happily aging gracefully. Dr. Welch is an amazing and talented artist and she considers every little detail for a great experience. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, my advice is to find a surgeon you trust like Dr. Welch, and do not wait any longer. It just might change your life for the better, like it did mine.
